While my socials have been quiet lately, I’ve been on an art residency in Maine, so you’ll be seeing several photo dumps over the next few days as I catch up. I’m still processing a lot of it, as the canvases I created were really deeply personal process paintings, which I can’t reveal just yet (to be revealed at end of August). I painted 10 out of 12 paintings planned, and one bonus unplanned painting. I worked at a frenetic, (some might say crazy) pace to achieve a lot in a short time. Yet I also strove to maintain some balance this residency, still exploring the region, getting outside to walk and hike each day, and I even got to kayak on saltwater for the first time (a bay)! All while sharing studios and spaces, feedback and conversation, community and memories with the other artists. It was a really special time. I’ll be sharing more and eventually blogging about it. Suffice to say it was no easy feat getting 11 wet and dripping oil paintings home but we made it safe with just a need for a few minor touchups. #photodump #maine #goldenappleartresidency #transportingwetoilpaintings #artresidency #hikingmaine #kayakmaine #rhodeislandartistinmaine
