Rachel Brask is the featured artist at The Olive Tap in Wayland Square, Providence, RI for July 2017. Stop by the evening of Wednesday, July 26, 5-7pm for light refreshments and to meet the artist for the closing reception.

Rachel Brask Artworks will again be participating in The Looff Art Festival on Saturday, August 12, 2017, 11am-6pm. This fantastic art festival is held at the historic Looff Carousel at Crescent Park in Riverside (East Providence), RI. The art festival boosts live music performances throughout the day, food trucks, and many fine art and craft vendors.
Rachel Brask Artworks will be present with a booth including selections from the Abstracted Rainy Moments series, along with some other earlier abstract paintings and prints. She’ll also be at her easel, painting LIVE throughout the day.
This event free and open to the public, no admission charged.

During the month of July 2017, The Olive Tap Providence will host Rachel Brask as the featured artist. Visit The Olive Tap at 485 Angell Street, Providence, RI (in Wayland Square) to see several paintings and prints by Rachel Brask in the rear gallery & tasting area. A selection of “Abstracted Rainy Moments” paintings will be on exhibit July 1-28, 2017. All paintings and prints are for sale through The Olive Tap.

- Meet the Artist at a Tasting Friday, July 14, 6-9pm: Every Friday, The Olive Tap hosts a tasting of a meal, pairing oils, vinegars with local chef-prepared cuisine and wine. On Friday, July 14, 6-9pm, meet Rachel Brask as she’ll be attending this tasting. Tickets are just $15 for an unforgettable tasting of food, wine, fresh bread, inspiration, and more than 40 artisan olive oils and authentic balsamic vinegars on tap. - Closing Reception: Thursday, July 27, 5-7pm: Join the artist for a closing reception and light refreshments, free and open to the public.
After starting the week unable to pick up a paintbrush for fear of what would or would not come out on canvas, these final 48 hours have given me the opportunity for redemption, and to move forward past that redemption.
I’ve envisioned a ‘rainy moment’ painting for awhile to include a mountain lake, but just hadn’t gotten to it (like many good art ideas). I started that idea, and I’m pleased so far with how it’s turning out.
As you may have read in a few previous posts about the status of progress for my 2017 in-studio artist residency, you will notice that this period of 10 days started off on a bumpy and somewhat uninspired start (except for the day trip to NYC – that was inspiring).
In the previous two days, progressed onto brushing gesso and inscribing canvas, so my goal for today is to actually start painting another ‘rainy moment’ onto a large canvas. Continue reading
